The Opportunity

 

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 5 Senior ICT Support Officer within Digital Customer Services Branch. 

 

This is a unique opportunity to join the Digital Customer Services Branch at Parliament House as a Senior ICT Support Officer.

 

In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the efficient functioning and operation of ICT support services.

 

You will have a significant impact on the technological infrastructure that supports Parliament House and Electorate Office’s, working closely with Senators, Members, and their staff, as well as other Departmental clients. This position offers the chance to contribute to technical support and the evaluation of ICT equipment.

Job Specific Requirements


•  The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Duty Statement

  

Classification: Parliamentary Service Level 5 

Branch: Digital Customer Services Branch 

Section: ICT Service Delivery 

Immediate supervisor: Assistant Director

 

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 5 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

1.    Promote, support and contribute to the efficient functioning and operation of a small team responsible for ICT support services.  Contribute to the supervision and mentoring of junior and less experienced staff.

 

2.    Oversee and contribute to the installation and support of ICT equipment at Parliament House and in Electorate Offices, including the resolution of service requests, incidents and problems.  Undertake more complex installations and support functions.  Evaluation of ICT Equipment including but not limited to Mobile devices, printers, laptops and peripherals. 

 

3.    Using quality assurance practices ensure ICT services provided meet clients’ requirements and are in line with obligations and agreed service levels.

 

4.    Provide high level technical support for Senators, Members and their staff, as well as other Departmental clients.

 

5.    Contribute to the production and review of technical and user documentation.

 

6.    Maintain strong working relationships with clients, internal/external stakeholders and service providers to ensure positive customer outcomes.

Salary

 

Currently, the salary range for this position is $86,137 - $92,412 per annum.

 

Conditions of Employment

 

Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:

 

•    Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. 

 

•    Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. 

 

•    Health assessment – a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
