The Opportunity
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Executive Level 1 Sharepoint Administrator within Digital Customer Services Branch.
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) provides ICT services via a shared services model to the Australian Parliament House (APH) and to more than 5000 people who work for the parliament. This includes supporting the ICT needs of all parliamentarians and their staff and the parliamentary office locations across Australia. ISD also provides ICT services to the other parliamentary departments: Department of the Senate, Department of the House of Representatives, Parliamentary Budget Office, and the Parliamentary Workplace Support Service.

Who we are looking for
0365 and SharePoint SME
We are looking for a skilled M365 and SharePoint SME to manage and maintain our Microsoft M365 and Online SharePoint environments, ensuring seamless functionality across site collections and content databases. The ideal candidate will have experience customising SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and workflows to align with business needs, creating solutions that support organisational processes.
They will implement and oversee security measures and permissions to protect sensitive data, monitor SharePoint health, diagnose issues, and perform routine maintenance to maintain peak performance. Additionally, the role includes developing and executing backup and recovery strategies to minimise data loss risks, as well as configuring and customising Microsoft M365 applications and features to meet organisational requirements.
This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional committed to maintaining a secure, efficient, and user-friendly SharePoint environment.
Experience in the following platforms is highly desirable:
- SharePoint
- 0365
- Intune experience
- Azure and other cloud technology experience
- Technical Skills in Scripting and Automation
Job Specific Requirements:
• The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Duty Statement

Immediate supervisor: Director, Collaboration Platforms
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 1 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 and Online SharePoint environments, including site collections and content databases, ensuring smooth functionality.
2. Customise SharePoint Sites, libraries, lists, and workflows to align with business needs and processes.
3. Implement robust security measures and permissions to safeguard SharePoint data.
4. Monitor SharePoint Health, diagnose issues, and perform routine maintenance, ensuring optimal performance.
5. Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to mitigate data loss risks.
6. Manage the configuration, setup, and customisation of Microsoft 365 application and features to meeting organisation requirements.
7. Provide mentorship to junior colleagues and execute strategies for staff and skills succession planning.

Conditions of Employment
Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
• Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
• Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
• Health assessment – a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
