The Opportunity

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for multiple current and expected vacancies at Parliamentary Service Level 6, and will be creating a merit pool within the Digital Customer Services Branch.

 
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) provides ICT services via a shared services model to Australian Parliament House (APH) and to more than 5000 people who work for the parliament. This includes supporting the ICT needs of all parliamentarians and their staff and the parliamentary office locations across Australia. Information Services Division (ISD) also provides ICT services to the other parliamentary departments: Department of the Senate, Department of the House of Representatives, Parliamentary Budget Office, and the Parliamentary Workplace Support Service.

Who we are looking for

 

Endpoint Administrator


We are seeking experienced Endpoint Administrators with a solid background in Intune, Configuration Manager, and mobile device management. Ideal candidates will bring advanced technical expertise in endpoint management, leveraging PowerShell scripting to streamline system administration, enhance efficiency, and support endpoint software packaging. Key responsibilities include actively monitoring and optimising scripts to ensure optimal system performance, enforcing patch management and security compliance, and managing application allowlists. This role requires skilled problem-solvers adept at diagnosing and resolving incidents. Successful candidates will also contribute to developing and updating technical SOPs to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.


Cloud and on-site Infrastructure Administrator 


We are looking for Senior Infrastructure Administrators with extensive experience in deploying and maintaining both on-site and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Azure Local (Stack HCI) environments and VMWare platforms, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi, as well as proficiency in leveraging Azure or AWS cloud services. They will be skilled in following best practices for architecture, security, and performance, incorporating infrastructure-as-code, and configuring storage and disaster recovery solutions. Additionally, the role involves developing and automating ICT infrastructure processes to enhance operational efficiency. This position requires problem-solvers who can investigate and resolve complex issues across on-site and cloud environments and is committed to sharing expertise and knowledge with team members to support collective growth and resilience.

 

M365 Cloud Administrator 


We are looking to create a merit pool of M365 Cloud Administrators with extensive experience in ensuring the platform is meeting business and functional requirements. In this role you would be required coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.  You will work alongside a number of systems and cloud engineers and contribute to the successful delivery of platform solutions in support of the Australian Parliament. This position requires problem-solvers who can investigate and resolve complex issues across the M365 suite of products and is committed to sharing expertise and knowledge with team members to support collective growth and resilience.

Endpoint Administrator

 

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

1.    Provide technical expertise in endpoint administration, with a focus on Intune and mobile device management.

 

2.    Maintain ICT workloads by implementing repeatable processes for system administration, optimising efficiency, and leveraging PowerShell for remediation scripts and endpoint software packaging.

 

3.    Continuously monitor and refine scripts, addressing issues to ensure optimal system performance.

 

4.    Ensure consistent compliance with patch management, oversee application allow list, and meet ICT security requirements.

 

5.    Diagnose and resolve incidents, mentor junior staff, foster a collaborative team environment, staying informed on emerging technologies and contribute to the production of technical SOPs.

1.    Providing ICT infrastructure administration support, system maintenance and operational support to ensure optimum system performance including delivering changes to agreed service levels and release schedules.

 

2.    Performing routine checks and monitor performance to ensure systems working correctly, including installation and system upgrades.

 

3.    Investigate and resolve complex issues relating to ICT infrastructure and systems maintenance and escalate as required. Applying established processes, methodologies, and issue resolution.

 

4.    Engage with other internal teams and external vendors to build service and delivery capability.

 

5.    Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge transfer to team members.

 

6.    Other duties, including project work, as required.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for PSL6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

1.    Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 environments, including the overall health and performance of the M365 infrastructure.

 

2.    Oversee the deployment and management of collaboration tools like Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

 

3.    Implement and enforce security policies, monitor for security threats, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

 

4.    Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and perform routine maintenance, ensuring optimal performance.

 

5.    Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to mitigate data loss risks.

 

6.    Manage the configuration, setup, and customisation of Microsoft 365 application and features to meeting organisation requirements.

Salary

 

Currently, the salary range for this position is $97,841 - $109,967 per annum.

 

Conditions of Employment

 

Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:

 

•    Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. 

 

•    Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. 

 

•    Health assessment – a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
