The Opportunity

 

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to fill multiple Parliamentary Executive Level 2 (PEL2) Director positions within the Information Services Division.

 

As an PEL2 Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing teams, developing and implementing strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. You will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and strategic objectives of DPS and Parliamentary Departments.

•    Strategy & Governance
•    Program/Project Delivery
•    Information Management

About the Roles

 

The duties and responsibilities of these roles include, but are not limited to:

 

•    Provide leadership that ensures the effective delivery of services and projects  
•    Foster an inclusive culture consistent with the Parliamentary Service Values
•    Develop and implement strategies and policies
•    Provide expert advice and guidance on matters within your domain
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve business objectives
•    Contribute to the strategic direction of the Information Services Division.

 

ICT and Digital Solutions (in addition to the above):

 

•    Ensure the security and integrity of ICT systems
•    Manage and oversee the operations of ICT applications and infrastructure
•    Monitor and report on the performance of ICT services

Selection Criteria

  

•    Demonstrated ability to lead a team by establishing a culture of achievement to improve the quality of services at DPS.
•    Highly effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills including the ability to collaborate in a high-pressure environment and build consensus amongst a broad range of stakeholders.
•    Demonstrated business acumen including the ability to scan your environment, manage risk effectively and think strategically about the longer-term opportunities.
•    The ability to adapt to change including managing competing and changing priorities, demonstrating resilience and dealing with ambiguity

 

ICT and Digital Solutions (in addition to the above):

 

•    Ability to develop and implement ICT strategies and policies
•    Knowledge of ICT security and risk management
•    Experience in managing ICT projects and teams
•    Desirable – tertiary qualifications in ICT or related field. 

  

 

Job Specific Requirements

    
•  The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance relevant to the role.

Conditions of Employment

 

Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:

 

•    Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. 

 

•    Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. 

 

•    Health assessment – a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
